I started with DWP in 2012 as an electrical craft helper. Worked through the ranks as an apprentice,  now a journeyman lineman.

I have been clean and sober since 2007.  The 12 step program and fellowship has worked miracles in my life. Before my sobriety, I couldn’t hold a job,  had warrants,  unhealthy relationships,  and a lot of debt. I had lost my drivers license from multiple DUI’s and was on the verge of being homeless.

I checked into a rehab, got introduced to a 12 step program, where I met some amazing people. I started doing some work with a sponsor. Over time I was able to clean up the wreckage I caused, and turn my life around. Met the love of my life and got married. Rebuild relationships with family and friends.

Today I feel blessed. Work , family, and friends are all in my life today as a result of making a decision to change. When I heard about the peer volunteer program I was excited to be involved,  to be able to make a difference in peoples lives.

Pain is inevitable suffering is optional. If you’re sick and tired, and searching for a solution. Get open and honest with somebody, make a decision and take some action.
