Hello, My name is Paul Sanguesa my sobriety date is November 3rd , 2007.

I began drinking and using drugs daily at the age of 13 and it quickly became a way of life! In under a year, due to all the wreckage and legal troubles brought on by the drugs & alcohol, my father told me to get a job,  go to school, or leave the house. Of course at age 13 I thought I knew it all so I left the house and started my life of crime to support myself and my habits! This led to time in juvenile hall, county jail, and ultimately prison. When I got out of prison, I continued my way of life.  I always worked hard  and some of my employers helped me with great legal representation when I was in trouble, which only allowed me to continue the lifestyle.  I eventually got married and had 2 kids but, was never really there for them as a father should be. In a nutshell, I traded my life and my family for the drug and alcohol lifestyle I was living.

My whole life changed on November 3, 2007, when I started working the steps with my sponsor and got to know myself.

Today I have a sponsor and attend AA meetings regularly.  I’ve worked the 12 steps a few times and continue working with others. I was never a believer of God, but after working with my Sponsor and going over my life I know without a doubt God has always been watching over me. I have a good relationship with my kids today who are young adults and I made peace with my father and mother before they passed away a few years ago. My life is full all because of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS. I joined the Peer Volunteer program to help others and I am available 24 hours a day if you need to talk, vent, or want help.
